Quack Attack!

According to KATU in Portland, a woman is suing the owner of a duck that allegedly attacked her at a trailer park.

Plaintiff’s personal injury lawsuit alleges that a “domestic duck” attacked her as she was “stepping out of her motor home.” She fell during her attempted escape, allegedly fracturing her right wrist.

The complaint alleges that the duck’s owner was negligent in one or more of the following ways: 1) Failing to maintain proper control of her domestic animal; 2) Failing to warn or otherwise inform neighbors of her duck’s dangerous propensity in attacking individuals; 3) Failing to contain her duck on her own property; and 4) Needlessly endangering the public by her above failures.

For her personal injuries plaintiff is seeking $25,000 in medical expenses, and “past and future noneconomic damages in an amount to be determined by the jury, but is currently estimated not to exceed $250,000.”
